You bring up such a great point! Meditating in a group really CAN intensify the positive experience! With Reiki, there are two people in the room (or three if it's a couple session) which I think does enhance the energy for many people -- but you are highlighting that group meditations can have similar effects. Indeed, many cities and towns offer them, and there are even remote versions. Thanks for this tip and insight!

I have been in intense childhood trauma therapy for the last 2 years, About a year ago the facility started a meditation group, only intended to last for 8 weeks {once a week} and we continued past the 8 weeks because we all had such a positive experience with it. I brought up the idea that as a group the level of intensity during our meditations was so much deeper and stronger when we meditated as a group and that I could feel the energy of the combined meditative energy so much more in group than when I tried to meditate at home. We have decided as a group that I am correct in my assessment of group meditation vs single meditation. Now this is not to say that individual meditation is useless or harder. On the contrary I bring it up because as a newbie it really helped me get started and to actually feel a difference and a positive experience with meditation at all. And now with practice I meditate often and actually started a 30 day yoga/meditation challenge for myself as I am nearing the end of my therapy with my counselor. I want the good feelings to continue and have a firm belief that meditation will be a huge part of my continued success. So that is my experience with group meditation vs single meditation. I believe both serve a person in a fully meaningful way.
all my best,
Luc
